Dickensian Christmases – A Victorian Experience in Grassington

9th November 2015

This sleepy North Yorkshire village is the perfect setting for a Dickensian Christmas and for one weekend only, browse traditional market stalls with villagers and stallholders dressed in Victorian costume.

We offer a number of Christmas market trips, but this one has a very unique difference – you’ll feel like you’re travelling back in time (hopefully without Charles Dickens’ classic meanie, Scrooge, making an appearance)!

With the festival taking place on the first three Saturdays of December (5th, 12th and 19th), this annual event is a popular one with such fantastic sights for all of the family to enjoy.

Allow the children to experience Christmases gone by, with traditional markets, Christmas lights and musicians, dancers and other street entertainers.

Stanley Travel is providing travel to the event on Saturday 5th December, with the timetable including an opening parade with the Marsden Band and the Town Crier. Other entertainment and activities include Santa’s procession, folk music, community carol singing, Punch and Judy, handbell ringers and a Christmas Tree Festival as well as side shows, shoe shine boys, buskers, chestnut sellers and a Christmas Market.

For more information on this traditional event please visit the website, so you can see just what is on offer!
