Our next drivers CPC course is on 15th to 19th February 2016 (5 days) at Stanley.
The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) qualification is a recent introduction by the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency). From 10 September 2009, all existing or new drivers needed to complete 35 hours of training and gain their DCPC qualification before 9th 2013 if they want to continue driving a bus or coach professionally. To stay qualified, you will need to continue your training throughout your professional driving career.
As a driver, you must do your 35 hours of periodic training every 5 years to keep your Driver CPC. It’s up to you when you take the training courses, as long as you do them within 5 years. Each 5-year period starts from 5 years before your current Driver CPC qualification runs out – not from the date you completed your last 35 hours of training. You must complete periodic training by 5 years from the date you got the initial qualification. Stanley Travel are an approved DVSA training centre, allowing us to deliver approved courses that count towards the required periodic training. Courses can be delivered at our centre or if the delegate numbers are 10+ we can come to you.
There is no test at the end of the course, nor is there a pass or fail. Once you have completed the required training you’ll get a driver qualification card. You must keep this with you when you’re driving professionally.
Our course modules include:
• Customer Service
• Emergency First Aid at Work
• Health & Safety
• Disability Awareness
