Featured Day Trip: Shildon Shed Bash
We’re inviting you to come along with us to see the Shildon Shed Bash on Friday 29th July!
The Shildon Shed Bash takes place at The National Railway Museum at Shildon and allows train spotters to see the Flying Scotsman, following its £4.2 million restoration.
The Flying Scotsman is now appearing as No. 60103 in BR Green, as it was when it was retired by British Railways in 1963 and will be joined by other locomotives from the same period, including A4 No. 60009 Union of South Africa and Q6 No. 63395, both in light steam.
Visitors are given special access to the cabs of the locomotives, including the incredible Flying Scotsman, as well as being invited to take part in various children’s activities, a talks programme and a selection of trade stands.
The event runs from 9.30am – 6.00pm with free admission, although the usual charge applies for steam train rides.
