Wynyard Gardens & Saltburn by the Sea

Wynyard Gardens in the Tees Valley is home to over 3000 fragrant David Austin roses, a selection of trees and shrubs which are highlighted with graceful water features and meandering paths. Visit the edible garden, which supplies the Halls Restaurant and the Gardens Cafe. After lunch we proceed to the seaside town of Saltburn for the remainder of the afternoon.

Richmond, Reeth and Aysgarth Falls
Monday 7th May
Enjoy a leisurely drive to Richmond, a historic Yorkshire Dales Market town, with its Norman Castle, Georgian Architecture and cobbled street, before continuing onto the village of Reeth in Swaledale. This quirky Saxon settlement is best known to Britain’s lead industry. We then proceed onto the Aysgarth Falls, a triple flight of waterfalls, surrounded by forest and farm land.

Skipton Market with optional Canal Cruise

Spend time in North Yorkshire’s market town of Skipton, famous for its 900 year old castle, romantic ruined priory and historic cobbled street. You can visit the market voted the UK’s best small outdoor market; before heading to the canal for your afternoon boat trip along a stretch of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Coffee and biscuits will be served on board which is included in the price.

Holy Island, Bamburgh & Seahouses
Saturday 19th May
Our first stop is the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, a tidal island off the North East coast where you can follow in the footsteps of the ancient monks who built the Priory almost 1400 years ago. We continue onto the Northumbrian village of Bamburgh famous for its Castle and for the Grace Darling RNLI Museum, which commemorates the life of Victorian Britain’s greatest heroine. Later in the day we proceed onto Seahouses, our last stop for today, a seaside fishing town with a working harbour and home to massive seal colonies. Seahouses has plenty of shops and restaurants; perhaps you may want to treat yourself to fish and chips before our journey home.

Haverthwaite Steam Train and Lake Cruise
Saturday 26th May
We travel to Haverthwaite in Ulverstone where we board the steam train for Lakeside, the southern tip of Lake Windermere. Travelling back in time you can enjoy the view from your carriage. We continue our journey by lake on board a Windermere Pleasure Boat to Waterhead Pier where you rejoin the coach. There will be some free time in Ambleside before we travel home.

Scarborough is the original seaside resort with stunning scenery and glorious beaches. There is lots to see and do in Scarborough. Teeside Princess River Cruise with Afternoon Tea
