South Lakes Safari Zoo – A Perfect Family Day Out

12th October 2015

With over 1000 animals at this amazing Cumbrian zoo, every member of the family will be in awe on a day trip to South Lakes Safari Zoo!

The zoo includes some of the world’s rarest and most endangered animals, in a natural environment.

Share the same space with anything from a kangaroo, to a penguin and jaguar, as they roam freely in natural spaces. You can even interact with the lemurs and squirrel monkeys or bravely venture underneath vultures and condors.

If you want to get really one-on-one with the animals at South Lakes, the giraffes, penguins and lemurs can be hand fed!

Of course, although it’s a second-to-none day out, South Lakes is also passionate about conservation and are working closely with The Wildlife Protection Foundation and The Sumatran Tiger Trust to save species, communities and build habitats across the world.

There are number of other activities available throughout your visit, including hand feeding the big cats and getting your children to act as a junior zookeeper for the day (guaranteed to keep them happy!).
