Stanley Travel to attend the UK Coach Rally 2016

11th April 2016

The 62nd UK Coach Rally is to be held in Blackpool on the promenade in front of the Blackpool Tower on the weekend of 23-24 April.

Stanley Travel is excited to announce that we have eight drivers and three coaches in attendance from Friday 22nd. The annual event is always the first ‘save the date’event in the diary for the Stanley Travel team.

We have long since entered our coaches into the prestigious UK Coach Rally, with categories including The Fred Bibby Award (Best Loved Coach), Peter Rogers Memorial Trophy (Top CPT Member), Plaxton Trophy (Top Plaxton) and the Rita Dalziel Trophy (Top coach 25 years or older).

Stanley Travel are delighted to have won Coach Driver of the Year in 2013.

About the Rally

The competition has previously been held in Brighton, Peterborough and at Alton Towers, with its original location being Clacton.

This year’s competition brings the rally back to the good ol’ British seaside and entrants can participate in a dinner dance at the classic Ballroom Tower in Blackpool on Saturday 23rd.

On the Saturday there is a time trial event which measures the coach and its driver’s ability to maintain an average speed under timed conditions. In the afternoon, preparations are under way to polish and give final checks over the coaches entered into Sunday’s judging event.

The obstacle course is a spectacular feat to see how drivers must be skilled in manoeuvring sometimes large coaches in difficult positions, as well as driving them safely and getting passengers from one destination to another in a friendly and calm manner.
