Keswick and Bowness on Windermere
Saturday 1st August - Route AMeander through the scenic market town of Keswick, within the Lake District National Park, browse the shops and visit a museum or restaurant, or simply take in the gentle beauty of this part of the world. From Keswick, we continue onto Bowness-on-Windermere, a town in South Lakes that remains popular with tourists and was one of the stop-off points for the 2012 Olympic torch.
Lightwater Valley Theme Park – Ripon
Wednesday 5th August - Route CWith over 35 rides and attractions for all ages, this North Yorkshire theme park is bursting with fun and adventures including The Ultimate, the longest rollercoaster in Europe, as well as plenty of rides and activities for the less daring, plus a variety of play areas for youngsters to enjoy!
Chatsworth House & Gardens
Saturday 8th August - Route EChatsworth House in Derbyshire, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire has been passed down through 16 generations of the Cavendish family. Chatsworth is renowned for its art, landscape, and its hospitality. It has evolved through the centuries to reflect the tastes, passions and interests of the succeeding generations. The house has 30 rooms in which you can explore from the magnificent painted hall, the regal staterooms, and the restored galleries. The beautifully sculptured gardens are famous for its history and modern waterworks, its Victorian rock garden and maze. After we have explored Chatsworth House and its gardens we board the coach for a short ride to the estate’s Farm Shop in Pilsley, where you can grab a coffee and bite to eat, as well as purchasing a few gifts before we head home. Forbidden Corner & Leyburn
Wednesday 12th August - Route CCreated in the 1980s, Forbidden Corner is ideal for adventurers and the young at heart. Explore the unique labyrinth of tunnels, chambers, and surprises that have been created within a four-acre garden in the heart of Tupgill Park and the Yorkshire Dales. This unique day out is guaranteed to delight adults and children of all ages, so bring the whole family! From Forbidden Corner, we continue to Leyburn, in the heart of Wensleydale, with a variety of shops and cafes. Watch the world go by before we head home! Admission is included in the price of each ticket.
Holy Island, Bamburgh & Seahouses
Saturday 22nd August - Route BOur first stop for this trip is at the tidal island of Lindisfarne which carries a wealth of history within its tidal walls. This peaceful setting, once the home of the Vikings and the ancient monks, is the birthplace of the Lindisfarne Gospels, one of the most precious books in the world. We continue our journey to the beautiful Northumberland Village of Bamburgh, home of the Grace Darling RNLI Museum and Bamburgh Castle. After a short stay, we continue to Seahouses, a fishing town where you can browse the shops or perhaps treat yourself to fish and chips before our journey home.
South Lakes Safari Zoo
Wednesday 26th August - Route ASet in 54 acres in Ullswater, Cumbria, and home to over 1,000 of the rarest and most endangered animals in unique natural environments, South Lakes Safari Zoo gives you a unique opportunity to get as close as physically possible to experience the amazing creatures. You’ll spot a whole host of animals, including lions, tigers, primates, giraffes, bears, rhinos, zebras, kangaroos, reptiles, penguins, vultures and more whilst at this popular zoo. Admission is included in the price of each ticket.
Haverthwaite Steam Train & Boat
Saturday 29th August - Route AAt Haverthwaite, in Ulverstone, we board the steam train for Lakeside, the most southern tip of Lake Windermere. We continue our journey by lake on board a Windermere Pleasure Boat to Bowness, where your coach will be waiting for you. There will be free time in Bowness, before our journey home. Admission is included in the price of each ticket.
Monday 31st August (Bank Holiday Monday) - Route AWe’re off to the seaside! Join us for a classic North East day out in the popular Yorkshire seaside resort of Scarborough with its two bays and sandy beaches, split by the headland, and home to the 12th century Scarborough Castle. There are lots of things to do for all the family in this much-loved resort. You can visit Peasholm Park, the Spa, amusements, ice cream parlours, or the working harbour, or simply take a deckchair and relax on the sandy beach.
